It's been a while since I've had a successful sunrise shot, and being super busy with work and a role in a play certainly doesn't help, either. So, I was skeptical about getting up early this morning and risking the rain to see if anything would happen – and let's just say the morning didn't start off as planned when I got halfway to my location and realised I forgot my filters.
As I waited for the sun to rise with no mobile phone reception I started planning my composition and testing how slow I wanted my shutter speed (there's no way I can I shoot water without a slow shutter.) All of a sudden the murky yellow turned into a soft pink, and I realised my comp was too far to the left. So, after a quick pan and tilt, I managed to snap this shot albeit with a little post processing magic. And as soon as it started, it was over. If you scroll through the shots you can see how quickly the colour faded, all within a matter of 2 minutes!
But, of course, if you're me nothing will go smoothly 100% of the time, and as I was packing away all my gear I managed to drop my polariser in the sand. Photography is fun!
